What Are Cookies
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Sites use cookies to make core features work, to remember your preferences, and to give the site operator information about how visitors use the site.
Cookies can be “first-party” (set by the website you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by a service used by the website, such as an analytics platform). They can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored until they expire or until you delete them).
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for four purposes:
Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. You cannot turn them off. Without them, features like page navigation, form submission, and login would not work.
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the website. We only see aggregated, anonymous data — we cannot identify individual visitors from analytics data.
We keep analytics data for 26 months and then delete it automatically. You can opt out of analytics cookies through our cookie settings.
Preference Cookies
These cookies remember your settings so you do not have to re-enter them on each visit.
Marketing Cookies
We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run third-party advertising on this website, and we do not use tracking pixels from advertising networks.
Our cookie consent banner includes a marketing cookies toggle for transparency and future-proofing. If we introduce marketing cookies in the future, we will only set them with your explicit consent, and we will update this policy accordingly.
Third-Party Services
Our website uses the following third-party services. Each may set their own cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policies:
Managing Your Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in three ways:
- Our cookie banner — click the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner of any page to open your preferences and toggle individual cookie categories on or off
- Browser settings — most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the website from functioning correctly
- Clear localStorage — your browser stores your cookie preferences in localStorage. Clearing your browser's site data will reset your preferences, and the cookie banner will appear again on your next visit
For browser-specific instructions visit Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
Legal Basis
Three instruments govern our use of cookies: the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy PrinciplesThe thirteen APPs set out in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 govern the handling of personal information by APP entities., and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) for any cookies linked to direct marketing.
- Essential cookies are necessary for the service and do not require consent
- Non-essential cookies (analytics, preference, marketing) load only after you give consent through the cookie banner
- Personal information collected through cookies falls under our Privacy Policy and the APPs
Changes to This Policy
We may update this cookie policy as our website evolves or as the law changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Where changes are significant — for example, if we introduce a new category of cookie — we will reset the cookie consent banner so you can make a fresh choice.
