We do not routinely collect sensitive informationUnder APP 3.3, sensitive information includes information about racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, criminal record, and health information. Sensitive information has stricter collection rules than other personal information. as defined under the Privacy Act 1988. If we ever need to, we will get your consent first, as APP 3.3 requires.

Australian Privacy Principles

We handle personal information under the thirteen Australian Privacy PrinciplesThe APPs are the cornerstone of the privacy protection framework in the Privacy Act 1988. They set out standards, rights, and obligations for the collection, use, disclosure, security, and access of personal information. (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988. Direct Marketing

Outreach to business contacts is part of how we operate. We conduct electronic marketing under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), which requires consent (express or inferred), sender identification, and a functional unsubscribe mechanism in every commercial electronic message.

Where we rely on inferred consent — for example, a current business relationship or a conspicuously published work email address — we still honour every unsubscribe request immediately. We maintain a suppression list.

You may opt out of marketing at any time by replying to any marketing email with “unsubscribe”, by using the unsubscribe link, or by contacting privacy@cmbeyer.com.au.

Who We Share Information With

How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes we collected it for, or as Australian law requires:

Under APP 11.2, we will destroy or de-identify personal information we no longer need. The exceptions are information in a Commonwealth record and information the law requires us to keep.

To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@cmbeyer.com.au. We will acknowledge your request within 14 days and respond substantively within 30 days. Access requests are free of charge. We may charge a reasonable fee for producing copies of records.

Data Security

Consistent with APP 11, we take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for all web traffic and email
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel
  • Regular security reviews of systems and processes
  • Staff awareness of privacy obligations
  • Contractual safeguards with service providers

If an eligible data breachUnder the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme (Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988), an eligible data breach involves unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss of personal information that is likely to result in serious harm. The entity must notify affected individuals and the OAIC. occurs, we will notify the OAIC and affected individuals under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988.

Overseas Transfers

Our parent company, CM Beyer Limited (UK), may receive or access some of the personal information we collect. So may service providers outside Australia — for example, hosting providers in the EU.

When we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, as APP 8 requires. The United Kingdom maintains a data protection framework comparable to the Australian one.

Children's Information

Our services are for businesses and business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 15. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we hold information relating to a child, please contact privacy@cmbeyer.com.au.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The effective date above reflects the current version. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, by posting a notice on our website.
