How to spot loan scams and impersonation

Unfortunately, fraudsters sometimes use the names of established lenders to trick people. We want our customers to be able to spot the warning signs.

Common warning signs

  • pressure to act or pay immediately, before you have time to think;
  • a request to pay into a bank account you do not recognise;
  • an upfront “fee” demanded before a loan is released;
  • contact details, web addresses or email domains that do not match our own;
  • requests for passwords or full security details, which we would never ask for in full.

How to check you are dealing with us

The genuine Credicorp Limited has one UK website — credicorp.co.uk — and our email addresses use that domain. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 16093826, with a registered office in London NW10 7TR. You can verify our registration on the Companies House register.

If anything does not add up, stop and check. Contact us using the details on this website, not the details in a suspicious message. If you think you have been targeted by a scam, you can also report it to Action Fraud. Taking a moment to confirm is always worth it.
